Founded by Eugene Scian, a licensed builder and true industry innovator, Capitol has always been focused on doing things better. More than 25 years ago, Eugene pioneered polymer plantation shutters in Australia, helping set new standards for durability, performance and design that continue to influence the industry today.

Eugene Scian – Founder
Eugene is the driving force behind Capitol Trade. A licensed builder with more than 25 years in the industry, he brings a wealth of practical knowledge in manufacturing, installation and business.
Eugene is also passionate about helping others succeed. He actively mentors and coaches retailers and distributors, sharing practical installation techniques, product knowledge and business insights that help our partners build stronger, more profitable shutter businesses.
Lorraine Kirkwood — Industry & Business Development
With more than 20 years of experience in the window furnishings industry, Lorraine brings a unique understanding of the business from the ground up.
Starting her career as a retail sales consultant, Lorraine has gone on to hold senior roles including sales coach and mentor, general manager of manufacturing plants and marketing development manager.
Her experience across sales, manufacturing, marketing and strategy gives Capitol Trade a broad perspective on what retailers and distributors actually need from their supplier.
Ash Morris — Operations
Ash brings more than 16 years of construction industry experience to Capitol Trade, including working with major home builders and managing teams responsible for final fit-outs.
Highly practical and confident with tools, installation and construction, Ash oversees the day-to-day operations of Capitol Trade and brings a strong hands-on approach to everything we do.
He’s quickly becoming an invaluable part of the Capitol team — and someone our customers can rely on for practical support.
